This morning, several members of the Department gathered to pay respects and say goodbye to life member Richard "Rick" Fox III. Rick joined the department in 1985 as a Junior Firefighter. Rick served the department for several years as a firefighter until marrying his wife, Julie, and moving to Middletown. Rick continued to serve the citizens of Lower Swatara Township by responding to calls while working as part of the Township Municipal Department. Rick also joined the Union Hose Company of Middletown, serving for several years as a firefighter. In addition to his service as a volunteer firefighter, Rick also served four years in the United States Coast Guard.
