At approximately 00:30 hours on Sunday, August 18th, Rescue 59 was dispatched to the first block of North Second Street in Steelton Borough to assist Company 50 with a working Structure Fire. While returning from a previous reported appliance fire on South Third Street in the borough, Chief 50 came across the vacant building with fire visible from the exterior.

Rescue 59 made the response two minutes after dispatch with 7 personnel along with Chief 59 and Chief 59-1. Upon arrival , the Rescue's crew was assigned to assist with extinguishing hot spots as well as salvage and overhaul in the fire building. Company 59 units remained on the scene for approximately 2 hours before clearing.
