At approximately 12:45 on 11-23-16, as Engine 59 was backing into the station from an automatic fire alarm, Company 59 was dispatched for a vehicle fire (trash truck) to the rear of 1050 Kreider Drive. Engine 59 and Chief 59 responded and arrived to find a trash truck into a transformer with the driver out of the vehicle. The transformer was burning and arcing along with smoke coming from the ground in several spots. PP&L arrived and secured the power so the truck could be removed. Crews made sure the fire was out in the transformer and truck before going available.
