On the evening of 7/28, Company 59 was dispatched to a reported motor vehicle accident with entrapment in the eastbound lanes of PA 283 in the area of the Star Barn. Upon arrival, crews found one vehicle overturned and down the embankment. Upon investigating, crews identified that the vehicle had one occupant who was not trapped, but having great difficulty breathing. The crew from Rescue 59 stabilized the vehicle and began an evaluation of the patient. Upon the arrival of EMS, care was transferred and crews assisted with packaging the patient and transporting them to the ambulance. Once the patient had been loaded into the ambulance, crews from Rescue 59 and Engine 59-1 assisted the tow company with cleaning up the wreckage. Crews were out about 30 minutes.
