This past Wednesday, The Lower Swatara Fire Department was asked to do a fire extinguisher training for the employees of Middletown Home. Firefighters Richard Myers, Dave Floyd, Corey Swisher, and Fire Police Jackie Leonard participated in training on the use of fire extinguishers and safety practices in a long term care facility as well as fire safety advice that the employees could utilize at home.

It is the mission of the Lower Swatara Fire Department to provide fire safety training and information to the citizens of the township as well as local businesses. Fire extinguisher trainings are performed using the Bullex Fire Simulator which allows for clean and safe simulation for participants to practice extinguishing skills.
