The Halifax Fire Department as well as H & S Towing suffered a loss of one of their own recently. Tyler Laudenslager was working as a Tow Truck Operator on Interstate 78 when he was struck and killed by another motorist.
For those wishing to give their condolences and need information of arrangements, please monitor Halifax Fire Department Facebook page.

Although this is a tragedy, let us not forget the lesson to be learned. We as first responders need to be ever vigilant of the dangers when operating on highways and other roadways. Practice safe techniques and always stay alert.

For the public, we ask that when approaching emergency scenes, construction areas, even other motorists along the highway, please slow down and approach with caution. If you are traveling on a multiple lane highway, please move over. It only takes a moment to turn a hindrance into a tragedy.

On behalf of the Lower Swatara Fire Department, we would like to convey our condolences to Tyler's family, Halifax Fire Department, and H&S Towing.
