On the morning of Friday 6/2/17 at approximately 08:05 hours Company 59 was dispatched to the westbound lanes of PA Route 283 just prior to the N. Union Street exit for a reported vehicle accident with injuries. Upon going en route, Engine 59-1 was advised by Dauphin County Communications of a tractor trailer that was traveling east bound and had lost two tires. The tires had crossed over to the west bound lanes of travel, striking a vehicle head on. Upon arrival, Engine 59-1 found one vehicle on top of the guardrail and command was established. With everyone out of the vehicle, Engine 59-1 took a blocking position and assisted with general clean-up and hazard control. The crew also assisted the police department with attempting to locate the tires. After operating for about an hour, all Company 59 crews cleared the scene one the vehicle had been removed.
