After a few weeks of being in and out of service, Rescue 59 is finished having some equipment remounted by Specialized Fire Equipment Services in Middletown. Our goal was to improve firefighter safety when removing and placing current equipment on the rescue, organizing our Paratech Rescue Strut Equipment for safe and efficient deployment, mounting of new equipment, and making adjustments to the vehicle mounted air regulator so that our pneumatic tools would function properly. The team at Specialized did an outstanding job and exceeded our expectations! The pride and quality in their work is unmatched. Thank you Rich and Bob!
The pull out board in the center was added after some modifications.
Neat and organized.
These rescue struts were in a location that was unsafe and very hard to remove due to their weight. Now that's not an issue.
The little giant ladders were moved to this compartment. The far left side, and one each side of the Rescue.
Our 2 new hydrafusion pumps were mounted with our J hooks for our struts.
Our 2 new hydrafusion struts and our new strut bags.
This side now has 2 farmer jacks and 3 strut bags. The strut bags consist of a base plate, an anchor strap, a rescue cluster and one of each kind of strut top we have. The large bag has 2 base plates and several anchor straps. This allows for the firefighter to grab one bag which has all the accessories needed to deploy a rescue strut. All of theses accessories were individually mounted before which made it harder to organize and carry what was needed. This is a much more efficient deployment method.
This tool board is a transverse board that can extend out either side of this compartment. We moved this board forward away from the rear wall and remounted the tools to one side of the board. With reorganizing these tools what was on 2 sides is now on one side freeing up the other side for additional equipment.
